Our History

Founded in the 1950s by John T. Collins, Esq., our firm has been a cornerstone of the legal community in Buffalo, New York. A prominent figure in the labor movement, Mr. Collins dedicated his career to advocating for union members, specializing in personal injury cases. His commitment to justice laid the foundation for our firm’s mission and values.

In 1980, William B. Collins, Esq. (Bill), joined the firm, continuing his father’s legacy. Bill represented union members across various trades and quickly earned a reputation as a successful trial lawyer, achieving numerous multi-million-dollar verdicts and settlements. Under his leadership, our practice expanded to serve a diverse range of clients, handling all types of injury cases with the same dedication and vigor.

Commitment to Labor Unions

New York State is one of the top states for labor union membership, with over 4.5 million members. Despite safety regulations implemented by the Department of Labor, thousands of workers are injured or killed on the job each year. At Collins & Collins Attorneys, we possess extensive knowledge of labor laws and are deeply committed to representing labor union members. If you are injured at work, do not hesitate to contact us. We are a union-oriented injury firm, well-versed in the injuries and situations unique to this line of work.

Our firm has long-standing ties to the organized labor movement, particularly in New York. William Collins’ Brother, John F. Collins, was a highly respected attorney in the labor movement, advocating for union members’ rights throughout his career. Many of our attorneys have connections to the labor movement, either as legal counsel to unions or as members themselves. Mike Quinn remains an active union iron worker, having dedicated ten years to supporting his family while navigating the daily risks of heavy construction. His firsthand experience with the challenges faced by union workers gives us a profound insight into their needs, fueling our commitment to vigorously advocate for our clients’ rights.
